Double O of Kidz In The Hall assaulted by security after performance

"Kidz In The Hall [click to read] are currently on tour with Rock The Bells. After stellar performances in Chicago last week, the duo of Naledge and Double O did not appear in yesterday's performance at Columbia, Maryland due to an altercation after a Saturday performance in Tempe, Arizona.

Although formal details have yet to be released, a reported eyewitness contacted HipHopDX over the weekend to claim that they witnessed group producer Double O in a physical altercation with several club owners and bodyguards. Although the source was not sure why the club staff was involved, suggesting it may have been from a dispute with another patron. The report stated, "After being grabbed up by one bouncer and put in a headlock, at least four other bouncers came over pulled Double O to the floor, and began kicking and beating him.""

And their manager released this statement:

Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge's attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.

In the last 2 years, Kidz In The Hall have traveled to over 10 countries, have done 200+ shows and never before been involved in any altercation, big or small, with club or concert security, or police officers.

Heard about this yesterday, it's a damn shame if you ask me. I think Rosenberg put it best on CiphaxRosenberg when he said Bouncers are usually the prime suspects when it comes to trouble making in the club.

But our music isn’t about other rappers or about killing a rappers mother or shit like that! It’s about the life of 2 dudes from Queens- Lefrak and QB!!!!! I guess what I’m saying is, the blog world has 2 focus on great music right now and not so much drama!. Music makes the thug calm down not drama. CNN we made another classic! Go out and support it! "The Wall St. Journal reports Translation Advertising, the consulting and branding firm run by Jay-Z and Steve Stoute, was hired to update Wrigley's well-known slogans. Brown's "Forever" serves as a commercial for Doublemint chewing gum. Brown and multi-platinum producer Polow Da Don updated the original Doublemint jingle in February during a studio session paid for by Wrigley. Brown later changed some of the lyrics, rechristened it as "Forever" and Jive serviced the single to radio and digital formats.

"By the time the new jingle came out, it was already seeded properly within popular culture," Stoute tells the Wall St. Journal."

Termanology hooks up with Multi-Platinum rapper Bun B of UGK & producer DJ Premier for his new single "How We Rock." When asked how the collaboration came about, Term stated "Around the time when i released "Watch How It Go Down," Bun B reached out to Premier and expressed interest in working with me." I ended up hangin with Bun at his birthday party in Houston and me preem & bun cooked up this track for my album - "How We Rock." We're shooting a video shortly, look for it!"

Termanology will be releasing his debut LP, Politics As Usual, on September 30th, 2008 via ST. Records/Nature Sounds. 79 Cent sues Taco Bell

Wow, he really went through with it. I see why though, can't have Taco Bell out there soiling Curtis's good name in the streets. People calling him 79 Cent and asking for Chalupas. No way he's going to sell out for (only) a million dollars.

"50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, accused the Mexican-style fast food chain of "diluting the value of his good name" and employing a guerrilla advertising campaign to fool consumers into thinking he had endorsed the chain, said the lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court.

"Without seeking or obtaining Jackson's authorization, defendant Taco Bell made him the star and focus of its nationwide advertising campaign by using his name, persona and trademark to promote Taco Bell's business and products," court papers said.

The lawsuit accuses the chain of disseminating a letter, addressed to 50 Cent, that encourages the rapper to change his name to "79 Cent," "89 Cent" or "99 Cent."

The letter was designed to promote the company's "79-89-99 Cent Why Pay More" campaign, while avoiding the multimillion-dollar fee the rapper might have charged to use his name, the lawsuit said."

Nas debuts at #1, trounces Wayne.

The homey Nasir takes the #1 spot from Weezy on the Billboard 200. Good look for Nas, i was wondering how well it was going do due to all of the controversy surrounding it. I'm glad the fans actually went out to the stores and didn't just download the leaked version that dropped a week before his release.

"One rapper replaces another atop The Billboard 200 this week, as Nas' untitled Def Jam album dethrones Lil Wayne's Cash Money/Universal set "Tha Carter III." Nas' album sold 187,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, becoming the rapper's fifth No. 1 here.

Nas' prior album, 2006's "Hip-Hop Is Dead," also debuted at No. 1 but sold 354,000 over Christmas week. Meanwhile, after three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1, "Tha Carter III" slips to No. 2 with a 15% sales decrease to 105,000."

"MIAMI - Just a few years ago, Scott Storch was one of the top producers in pop music, living in a $10.5 million mansion on an exclusive Miami island, driving a phalanx of luxury cars and dating the likes of Paris Hilton and Lil Kim.

Nowadays, Scott Storch, 34, is missing in action. He owes over $500,000 in real estate taxes and had a warrant out for his arrest when he failed to show up in court in a child-support case last month. He has not had a top 10 hit in three years. He still has his waterfront marble mansion, but his lawyer, Guy Spiegelman, says Storch is attempting to refinance it after a "catastrophic occurrence this year" resulting from "mismanagement." Storch no longer works with his old manager or publicist. He hasn't talked to either of his children in months."

He was always the only producer i've seen to live the multi-million dollar lifestyle in total excess. Kind of made him come off as a douchebag after awhile. Then his music started to suffer, that "beef" with Timbo obviously didn't help things, and now he owes the government half a mil, and had warrants out for his arrest. Ah well, he hasn't made a song i really liked in years anyway.
